New York ER Doctors Sue UnitedHealth Over Out-of-Network Claims

UnitedHealth Group and MultiPlan Inc. are being sued by out-of-network emergency room doctors in New York for allegedly underpaying them for the emergency medical services they provide.

The lawsuit was filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York by five physician practice groups that staff emergency rooms. It accuses UnitedHealth Group and MultiPlan Inc. of conspiring together to underpay out-of-network claims.
