New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) on Thursday signed into law a measure decriminalizing the possession and sale of hypodermic needles and syringes.
The measure (A.868/S.2523), effective immediately, repeals a section of law that made possession of a syringe punishable by up to a year in jail.
