A New Mexico insurance board would have more say over requirements for plans sold to state residents in the Obamacare marketplace, under a measure headed to the governor.
The bill, H.B. 100, has the support of Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D), who said it will help provide more New Mexicans with affordable health care.
The measure would give the New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange board
power to set minimum standards on plan benefits, such as the cost of deductibles and co-pays. It also would incorporate into state law federal Affordable Care Act definitions for different levels of coverage under “bronze,” ...
