Neuralink Hires FDA Brain Chip Regulator to Lead Medical Affairs

Neuralink Corp., Elon Musk’s brain implant company, hired a top official from the US Food and Drug Administration division that regulates the kind of devices it’s building.

David McMullen is joining Neuralink to lead medical affairs, the company said in a blog post dated Monday. He has worked at the FDA as the director of the office of neurological and physical medicine devices, which reviews applications for neurological devices.

Neuralink and the FDA did not immediately respond to requests for comment. McMullen could not be reached for comment.
