Nebraska Medicaid Expansion Set for Ballot After Court Rules (1)

The Nebraska Supreme Court rejected a lawsuit that would have kept a Medicaid expansion proposal off the November ballot, clearing the way for voters to vote up or down on the issue.

Initiative 427, which has yet to be certified for the ballot, would expand Medicaid eligibility to include adults earning up to 138 percent of the federal poverty level, adding around 90,000 Nebraskans to the state’s Medicaid rolls. The Medicaid program currently covers around 230,000 Nebraskans.
