Nebraska Gets OK to Set Work, Wellness Rules for Health Benefits

Nebraska won federal approval of its plan to require some Medicaid enrollees to complete work and wellness requirements to get dental insurance and other health benefits.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ approval on Tuesday wrapped up final details of the state’s plan to expand enrollment to adults with incomes up to 138% of the federal poverty level. Nebraska officials say that such expansion will bring an additional 90,000 people onto the rolls of the Medicaid program, which had around 221,000 enrollees in June.
