The owner and an employee of a North Carolina ambulance company have pleaded guilty to fraudulently billing Medicare and an insurer for $6.1 million.
Davon Henderson, who ran Greenville, N.C.-based Med 1 Inter-facility Care LLC, and Pamela Babb, who submitted bills for the company, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit health-care fraud and aggravated identity theft charges Oct. 25, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina announced.
