Most States Now Collecting Rebates For Doctor-Administered Drugs, OIG Says

Most states are collecting Medicaid rebates from drug companies on certain physician-administered drugs, according to a report posted June 27 by the Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General.

However, because of incomplete and potentially inaccurate data provided by states, the HHS OIG said it was “unable to calculate the total rebate dollars all States collected and therefore could not determine the financial impact rebate collections had on reducing prescription drug expenditures.”
