Most Docs in Quality Program to Get Extra Medicare Funds (1)

The vast majority of doctors who participated in the first year of Medicare’s quality payment program will get extra money based on their scores, although the extra payouts will be small, the head of the Medicare agency said Nov. 8.

Of the over 1 million who submitted data for the Merit-based Incentive Payment Program or MIPS, 93 percent will get the extra funds, Seema Verma, head of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, said in a blog posting.
