Montana Health System Fined $10.8 Million Over False Claims

St. Peter’s Health, in Helena, Mont., will pay $10.8 million to resolve allegations that it violated the False Claims Act by submitting false claims for payments to federal health-care programs for services performed by an oncology doctor, the Justice Department announced Tuesday.

According to the DOJ, between 2015 and 2020, St. Peter’s, relying on Dr. Thomas Weiner’s documentation and certification, submitted claims which were determined to be false.
