Moderna’s Covid Shot Assistance Program Spurs Senate Scrutiny

Senators pressed Moderna Inc.‘s chief executive Wednesday for clarity on how patients can benefit from the company’s assistance program to help patients access the Covid-19 vaccine once the public health emergency ends.

Moderna’s announcement last month that its shot will be available at no cost to Americans who are uninsured or underinsured is “good news,” Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), chair of the Senate health committee, said in opening remarks at a hearing with Moderna CEO Stéphane Bancel.
