Moderna Offers South Africa Vaccines at $30 to $42 a Dose

Moderna Inc. offered South Africa 200,000 coronavirus vaccines at between $30 and $42 per dose, with the first batch available from July, according to Health Minister Zweli Mkhize.

While it’s unclear whether the government will buy Moderna’s vaccines, it has so far secured shots from several other drugmakers, including the Serum Institute of India Ltd., which delivered the first batch of 1 million doses this month. Pfizer Inc. will supply 20 million doses from May, while Johnson & Johnson is set to deliver 9 million vaccines at $10 per dose, according to a presentation Mkhize gave to lawmakers on Friday. ...
