Missouri Legislature Votes to Put Abortion Ban Measure on Ballot

Missouri voters will again be asked to decide on abortion access in their state after the legislature on Wednesday approved a ballot measure that seeks to overturn the state’s newly approved reproductive rights amendment.

The Missouri Senate voted to place on the next statewide election ballot a measure (HJR 73) that would amend the state constitution to only allow abortions in cases of medical emergencies and fetal anomalies, with exceptions for rape and incest up to 12 weeks gestation.
