Minnesota Beats Drugmakers’ Challenge to Free Insulin Program

Drugmakers will have to comply with a Minnesota law requiring them to provide free insulin to state residents who meet certain eligibility criteria, as they lack the ability to sue for an order blocking the law’s enforcement, a federal court in the state said.

The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America—a nonprofit whose members include insulin makers Eli Lilly & Co., Novo Nordisk Inc., and Sanofi—sued the state over the Alec Smith Insulin Affordability Act.
