The owner of Miami medical and home health clinics faces 97 months in prison for his part in schemes that billed Medicare and private insurers about $10 million in false claims, the Justice Department said April 20.
Vladimir Prado Sr. was also ordered to pay $4 million of restitution during his sentencing in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He pleaded guilty Feb. 2 to two counts of conspiracy to commit health-care fraud and wire fraud, resulting from two separate cases that were consolidated for plea and sentencing purposes.
