Insurance companies would have to cover all non-emergency mental health services, including addiction therapies, under a bill passed by the California Legislature.
The Senate voted 31-7 Sunday to send the bill (S.B. 855) to Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) for his consideration. Newsom must sign or veto the bill by Sept. 30.
