Device manufacturing company Medtronic Inc. Aug. 12 said it had purchased Cardiocom, a remote patient monitoring and disease management company, for $200 million in cash.
Medtronic said the acquisition represents an expansion of its health care services. Cardiocom manufactures and provides telehealth services for remote patient monitoring, while Medtronic is a leader in implantable devices.
Chanhassen, Minn.-based Cardiocom’s products and services include remote monitoring and patient-centered software to enable efficient care coordination and specialized telehealth nurse support, Medtronic said.
