A spending deal released Sunday would partially offset a cut to physicians’ Medicare pay that took effect in January and boost funding for community health centers.
Congressional leaders unveiled a six-bill spending package with several health provisions. The measure would lower the pay cut from 3.4% to a roughly 1.7% cut.
“This was essential to ensure our seniors are able to access the best care and doctors possible,” Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.), ranking member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee, said in a statement.
