Medicare Managed Care Premiums to Drop 6 Percent in 2019 (1)

The average Medicare managed care monthly premium will decrease by 6 percent in 2019, the Medicare agency announced Sept. 28.

The drop is the same as last year when the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services also said that Medicare Advantage (managed care) premiums would fall by 6 percent. Premiums have declined since 2015.

The average premium will be $28 per month, the lowest in the past three years, compared with an average of $29.81 in 2018, the CMS said.
