Medicare Agency Added to Transgender Rollback Rule in Late Tweak

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services was added to the list of agencies behind a proposal to roll back various health-care protections for transgender individuals.

The CMS was added to the list of agencies issuing the proposal in a version prepared for publication in the Federal Register June 14. The original proposal, released May 24, only included the Department of Health and Human Service’s Office of the Secretary and the Office for Civil Rights.
