A religious-based medical provider can’t sue Michigan to halt its potential enforcement of laws that guaranty equal rights for LGBTQ people.
Christian Healthcare Centers Inc.'s complaint didn’t sufficiently allege that two Michigan statutes entirely prohibit it from denying employment or care to people who don’t share its religious views regarding sexual orientation and gender identity, the US District Court for the Western District of Michigan said.
Additionally, the health-care provider didn’t adequately allege that it faces a credible threat of state prosecution for violating either law, the court said.
