Medical Equipment Firm Apria Resolves Billing Allegations

One of the nation’s largest medical equipment suppliers agreed to pay nearly $765,000 to settle allegations that it billed Massachusetts Medicaid patients directly (Commonwealth v. Apria Health, Mass. Super. Ct., No. 1784-CV-02524, assurance of discontinuance 8/9/17).

Apria Healthcare LLC, based in Lake Forest, Calif., agreed to an assurance of discontinuance with Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey to resolve allegations that it billed Medicaid patients for home respiratory and other services that were already covered by Medicaid.
