The head of the federal Medicaid agency touted a strong showing in the first year of the Trump administration of approving work requirements for Medicaid beneficiaries, with three states’ proposals approved and a dozen more in the works.
Seema Verma, the head of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, also told reporters May 1 that her agency decreased by 60 percent the time it takes for states to get their Medicaid changes approved.
Still, the CMS leader wants state Medicaid demonstration programs processed even faster, Verma told reporters at a briefing.
