Medicaid Directors Ask Congress When Pandemic Measures Will End

State Medicaid directors want Congress to provide clarity on when the continuous enrollment requirements put in place during the Covid-19 pandemic will end.

The National Association of Medicaid Directors, in a letter to Congress on Thursday, said the Department of Health and Human Services’ lack of transparency over when the public health emergency will end has worsened uncertainties for state planners looking to resume normal Medicaid operations. This, in turn, increases the risk of unnecessary losses of health insurance coverage for Medicaid beneficiaries, they said.
