The US Department of Health and Human Services is pushing a Maine school district to sign a voluntary resolution of a government investigation stating it violated federal law by allowing men to compete in women’s sports.
If the district doesn’t sign, the dispute will be referred to the US Department of Justice, Jeff Porter, superintendent of Maine School Administrative District 51, said in an email.
