Certification of long-term, post-acute care electronic health record systems assures providers that the systems are interoperable and can adequately protect and keep secure personal health information, a spokeswoman with the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology told BNA Oct. 28.
The certification designation, awarded for the first time Oct. 12 to vendor AOD Software’s Answers EHR, will assure providers that the products they are buying are designed to meet their clinical needs, Sue Reber, spokeswoman for CCHIT, told BNA.
