More than 9,000 nursing homes will split $523 million in performance-based payments for reducing deaths and infections from Covid-19 in October, the Trump administration announced Monday.
It’s the second of five funding rounds that will distribute some $2 billion in CARES Act Provider Relief Fund money to nursing homes that keep Covid infection and death rates at their facilities lower than the rates in their surrounding communities. Nursing homes will begin receiving payments Dec. 9.
