HOUSTON—Louisiana has reached a $20 million settlement of its lawsuit against pharmaceutical manufacturer Eli Lilly and Co. over off-label marketing of the antipsychotic drug Zyprexa, Louisiana Attorney General Buddy Caldwell (D) announced April 7 (In re Zyprexa Products Liability Litigation).
The lawsuit, filed under Louisiana’s Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act, alleged that Eli Lilly engaged in unfair and deceptive practices when it promoted the off-label marketing of Zyprexa.
The settlement was filed March 31 in the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of New York.
