LGBTQ Groups Oppose Request to Delay Health Anti-Bias Rule Case

Groups representing LGBTQ people are asking a federal court in Massachusetts to deny a government agency’s request to delay a lawsuit opposing changes the Trump administration made to a regulation intended to protect their members from discrimination in health care.

Granting the U.S. Health and Human Services Department an open-ended stay will allow provisions of the “rollback rule” that haven’t been blocked by other courts to take effect, sowing confusion and possibly exposing LGBT people to bias, the Boston Alliance of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Youth and others told the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
