Legacy Health, Nurses Win Approval of $14.5 Million Pay Deal

A Northwestern US health system and a nearly 17,000-member class of hospital workers can move forward with a global settlement resolving disputes over pay for meal and rest breaks and overtime.

The settlement, preliminarily approved in September 2024, received the final go-ahead from the US District Court for the District of Oregon on Thursday. The parties’ agreement was fair and reasonable, would avoid the substantial costs of further litigation, and was negotiated in good faith, Magistrate Judge Jeff Armistead said.
