A leading group representing nursing homes Thursday stated it supports long-term care facilities that require Covid-19 vaccines for workers but stopped short of endorsing a mandate writ large.
Health groups across the industry have rallied in support of Covid-19 mandates for health-care workers as the U.S. struggles to control the highly transmissible delta variant. President Joe Biden is set to announce Thursday a requirement for federal workers to get the jab or get regular Covid-19 tests, which could have a rippling effect on employer mandates.
Nursing homes are a notable holdout.
