A Las Vegas medical practice will pay the federal government $1.5 million to settle accusations that doctors billed health-care programs for services they never provided to patients.
The settlement announced by the U.S. Department of Justice April 27 addresses False Claims Act allegations against Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons of Nevada Inc. A handful of federal agencies, including the Department of Health and Human Services and Department of Veterans Affairs, investigated the case.
