Kentucky County Opposes Abortion Clinic Buffer Zone Challenge

Anti-abortion protesters’ lawsuit challenging an ordinance that created a buffer zone around a Louisville clinic should end early because the law doesn’t interfere with their rights, a local government says in a federal court filing in Kentucky.

The ordinance is a reasonable time, place, and manner restriction that doesn’t violate or substantially burden the protesters’ First Amendment free speech, assembly, and religious rights, the Louisville-Jefferson County Metro Government told the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky.
