A federal appeals court June 28 denied a Kentucky abortion clinic’s request for a full-panel rehearing on the validity of a pre-abortion ultrasound law.
A split panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit upheld Kentucky’s speech and display law in April. EMW Women’s Surgical Center PSC asked the full court to reconsider the case, saying the panel’s decision couldn’t be reconciled with the U.S. Supreme Court’s compelled-speech jurisprudence.
