Jury Finds Home Health Agency Operators Guilty in $17 Million Medicare Fraud Scheme

HOUSTON—A federal jury in Baton Rouge, La., March 29 convicted the owner and the director of nursing of a home health agency for conspiring to defraud Medicare of $17.1 million, prosecutors said April 1 (United States v. Age).

Following a six-day trial in the court of Judge James J. Brady of U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana, jurors found Louis T. Age Jr. and his former spouse, Verna S.
