Judge Trims Health Groups’ Suit Over Slashed NIH Research Funds

The NIH notched a partial win as a federal judge dismissed some claims in a lawsuit from health groups alleging the agency unlawfully terminated hundreds of research grants that are no longer in line with the Trump administration’s priorities.

In an order filed May 30, Judge William G. Young of the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts allowed the case to move forward, but dismissed health groups’ arguments that the government ran afoul of the void-for-vagueness and separation of powers doctrines.
