Judge Tosses Health Plan Suit Over Insurance Certification Denial

US health care regulators provided a reasoned explanation for the denial of Antidote Health Plan’s certification to sell to federal health insurance markets in Arizona and Ohio, a federal judge ruled.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services followed its own procedures for internal appeals and offered a fair shot at reconsideration when it rejected Antidote Health Plan’s certification to sell to plans under the Affordable Care Act, Judge Trevor N. McFadden for the US District Court for the District of Columbia wrote in an Oct. 11 order.
