Judge Dismisses Georgia’s Bid to Extend Medicaid Expansion Plan

A federal judge threw out Georgia’s attempt to win back three years of a Medicaid expansion program the state says was cut short by litigation.

In an order released Tuesday, the US District Court for the Southern District of Georgia granted summary judgment to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, upholding the agency’s denial of Georgia’s request to prolong its “Georgia Pathways to Coverage” special demonstration until 2028.
