Johnson Pushes Slimmed-Down Health Package for Year-End Bill

House Republican leaders are leaning toward a simplified package of health bills to include in year-end funding legislation, curbing ambitions to tackle wider changes to government health programs and pharmacy benefit managers this year.

House GOP leadership Thursday pushed back against attaching a large package of provisions onto a stopgap funding bill that needs to be passed by the end of next week to avoid a government shutdown, according to two sources with knowledge of the talks who weren’t authorized to speak publicly.
