Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds (R) will not challenge a state district court ruling that struck down a law prohibiting most abortions after detection of a fetal heartbeat—legislation she signed.
Planned Parenthood successfully challenged the law in court, and on Feb. 18 Reynolds said her state wouldn’t appeal that decision. “This was an extremely difficult decision. However, it is the right one for the pro-life movement and the state of Iowa,” Reynolds, who publicly and repeatedly calls herself a pro-life individual, said in a Feb. 18 statement.
