InnoMed Accuses UCLA of Infringing Bell’s Palsy Care Patent (1)

InnoMed Technologies Inc. accused UCLA Health and one of its doctors of infringing the company’s patented techniques for shortening recovery from Bell’s Palsy, a neurological disorder that causes weakness or paralysis on one side of the face.

UCLA medical doctor Akira Ishiyama used the patented treatment on at least nine patients without the original inventors’ consent, according to a federal lawsuit InnoMed filed July 3 in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
