Indivior Solutions Inc. will pay $289 million in fines for downplaying the safety risks of Suboxone, its drug for the treatment or opioid-use disorder, the Department of Justice said Thursday.
Indivior Solutions will also pay over $300 million in civil fines, bringing its total liability to $600 million, the DOJ said.
Suboxone, which contains the opioid buprenorphine, reduces withdrawal symptoms and opioid cravings in people addicted to opioids.
