Immune Patients Cautioned on Covid After Evusheld Pulled in US

People with weakened immune systems should take extra precautions against Covid-19 infection after AstraZeneca Plc’s Covid antibody was pulled from the US market due to waning effectiveness, health officials warned.

High-risk patients and their household members and close contacts should all receive recommended vaccines and boosters, wear masks in crowds and socially distance from others now that Evusheld, the last Covid antibody to yield to new immune-evasive variants, is no longer available, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Other measures include improving indoor ventilation, spending time outdoors and washing hands frequently, the agency said.
