ICE Must Explain Redactions of Records on Transgender Detainees

The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement must share more specific information about several redactions in records related to its treatment of transgender detainees, a DC federal district court said.

ICE’s justifications for its “wideranging withholdings” of information requested under the Freedom of Information Act are “largely insufficient,” Senior Judge Royce C. Lamberth of the US District Court for the District of Columbia wrote in a Tuesday opinion.
