Humana Wins Legal Fight to Fend Off Medicare Clawback Threat

A federal court in Texas handed a victory to Humana Inc. in its lawsuit to block a rule that would have allowed the US government to reclaim billions of dollars in payments made to the insurer.

The order, issued Thursday by the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas, vacates a 2023 final rule that detailed how the government would determine whether private Medicare Advantage plans were paid more than they should have been.
