Humana Moves to Dismiss Complaint Alleging Improper Use of AI

Attorneys representing Humana Inc. have asked a federal court in Louisville, Ky., to dismiss a class action lawsuit that claims the health insurance giant wrongly makes coverage decisions based solely on artificial intelligence.

The company claims the allegation is false. And in its motion filed Wednesday in US District Court for the Western District of Kentucky, the attorneys say the court lacks jurisdiction because the “Plaintiffs have failed to exhaust the exclusive administrative appeal process set by the Medicare Act” to resolve such disputes.
