House Republicans Playing ‘Small Ball’ on Health Care Next Year

House Republican leaders, heading into November midterm elections that will determine control of Congress, have settled on a health agenda for next year: bipartisan, incremental changes to the system aimed at lowering costs.

Republican leaders promised “transparency, choice, and competition” in health care as they unveiled their policy platform for the House GOP caucus Friday. Gone in what they call their Commitment to America are plans to repeal and replace Obamacare, or to make sweeping changes to other public health insurance.
