House Health Panel Preparing Virus Relief, Vaccine Measures

A key House committee is laying the groundwork for injecting billions of dollars into local public health systems to speed up Covid-19 vaccination efforts and boost the public health workforce.

Members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee are working with Biden administration officials to assemble many of the health-related aspects of a Covid-19 relief plan that could reach the floor next month, Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-Calif.) said.

“We’re in a race against death,” said Eshoo, the chair of the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health.
