Hospitals Push for Crackdown on Pricey Nurse Staffing Agencies

Hospitals want the Biden administration to launch an antitrust investigation into price gouging by nurse staffing agencies, warning they’re paying high prices to keep their emergency rooms staffed to care for Covid patients.

The American Hospital Association urged federal agencies to look at what they call “anti-competitive pricing” by nurse staffing companies that charge hospitals high rates for health-care providers amid unprecedented demand, and collectively raise their prices.
