Long-term care hospitals would get an extra 0.7%, or $25 million, under the proposed rule (RIN 0938-AU84) released by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
Hospitals have taken a financial hit during the Covid-19 pandemic due to increased costs for personal protective equipment, staffing, and lost revenues from elective surgeries. The Covid relief money they’ve received hasn’t been enough to keep many hospitals on their feet.
